About the Label
We formed our own record label in 2006 when Monday Morning Mixtape was a band going on tour to release our first album
"Goodbye, Heart. Greetings, Circuitboard." We used the label and website as an alternative to the (much to our disappointment,
still extrememly popular) News Corporation owned
"MySpace."
We wanted a way to make available all of our songs to anyone who wanted to hear them without the hook of a multinational media giant corporation that holds values and beliefs that are in complete contrast to our own. We realized that MySpace has the ability to bring many friends, and new listeners from all around the world, who would otherwise never have heard us, in contact with us, but that the good we could bring and ideas we could spread through our music would always be trumped by the power and evil of the News Corporation and the complexity and vastness of the realm in which they operate.
So, we made our own outlet.
Here we can do whatever we want, and it's still just as easy to get in contact with us, but it'll be a little bit harder this way until more of us start doing it DIY.
One thing is for sure: This is true and honest.
